Death for rape.
Noelle, an art student struggling to find her voice, is sexually assaulted by a fellow classmate. Attempting to cope with her trauma and an emotionally drained, she impulsively confronts her attacker. , leading to a violent altercation that culminates in his accidental death. After that Noelle is working hard to get back to normal. Only until she finds out that she was not the only girl that was sexually assaulted on the campus. The conception of a death penalty, that would come to the offenders becomes an inspiration she has been looking for. She takes the matters into her own hands. So, we have a case of rape and revenge that only for a brief moment goes along with the framework of the genre. Trauma, shock, alienation, but also revenge are personal for Noelle up to some point. Soon enough the pain as well as the vendetta become universal, brought by her to the level of generality. From now on she delivers justice by killing on the campus not just for herself but on behalf of all harmed girls, who are not strong enough to fight for their rights.
According to Noelle, the only way to work through the trauma is to remove those who have caused it. The Bloody path she steps on to reverse the role of the executioner and victim becomes both a therapy and a way to restore the balance in social reality.
M.F.A. unlike many revenge themed movies doesn’t use overly over-aesthetic convention, doesn’t use comic book tricks as well as plot or mental shortcuts. The case is serious. Dead serious. POLISH PREMIERE
