Cyprian, a ten-year-old orphan, raised by his beloved grandmother, dreams of becoming a real hero. Suddenly his grandmother dies and a threat of an orphanage hangs over Cyprian. Now, he has to confront the real loss and realize what it means to be a hero in the face of suffering.

Milena Dutkowska Graduate of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and graduate of Film Directing at Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice. “The Hero” is her graduation project. Her films have been shown at festivals all around the world, such as Palm Springs International Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, Moscow International Film Festival, and Shanghai International Film Festival.
