Jen, a blonde stunner, spends time with her wealthy lover, Richard, and his two best mates in a luxurious villa in the middle of a desert. The sexy Lolita very quickly arouses a burning interest of Richard’s pals. Unexpectedly, things drastically get out of hand and the originally idyllic weekend getaway turns into a nightmare.

At the beginning, the film plays with a cliché of a woman depicted as a sexual toy, subject to men’s desires. It pushes this stereotypical image to its limits in order to dramatically change it, as the story unfolds. As the film director states, “until now, this type of filmmaking has been made practically exclusively by men.” Now it is a woman who becomes “the driving force of the action.”

REVENGE is the first full-length feature film directed by Coralie Fargeat. It was screened in 2018 i.a. at the Sundance Film Festival and the Fantastic Fest.
